It features five special Chinese herbs to nourish and heal after the enormous effort of growing a baby and giving birth by replenishing vital kidney essence, Qi and blood. It’s so tasty - like a delicious Chinese risotto!

Ingredients
White Rice, Shan Yao (Chinese Yam)^*, Dang Shen (Codonopsis Root)*, Huang Qi (Astragalus Root)*, Yu Zhu (Polygonatum)*, Dang Gui (Angelica Root)*, Vegetable Stock Powder, Chinese Five Spice*, Salt, Pepper.

To add: 2 carrots (chopped), 2 sticks celery, (choppe); 1/2 small chinese cabbage/wom bok (shredded), 1 tbs fresh ginger (grated), 1 clove garlic (crushed), 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp sesame oil and 2-3 litres of water.
Tip: Add 1/2 cup of rice wine and 1/2 cup Chinese black vinegar for extra flavour.
Store in a cool dry place.
Instructions
Fry-off ginger and garlic in sesame and olive oil on low heat for 2 minutes. Add white rice, carrot and celery, stirring for 10 minutes. Add water and stock and bring to the boil, then simmer for another 30 minutes. Add Chinese cabbage and dried herbs. Simmer for another 30 minutes or until the rice boils down and soup becomes a thicker congee. Serve warm with salt + pepper to taste.
